short-brother:

“Wait, what?! We’re not related-”

Suddenly, there’s a dry laugh of relief. “Oh, for a second I thought you were talking about the prince’s body.” He nods, shrugging. “Yeah, sure. Either that, or half-brothers, depending on how concentrated the blood is. But for now, let’s go with cousins.”

“See, I’ve been thinking about that a lot. A couple of deductions of mine and I managed to surmise I may or may not be some sort of unofficial royalty by now.” Dry lips are licked, and Ed leans back in a similar fashion, though with poorer posture. It’s almost clear now he probably isn’t as small as he appears, but by god, does he hunch.

”Though since everything like that happened hundreds of years ago, I’ve not really got much way of knowing. Better than nothing, though.”

An eyebrow raises, as golden hued eyes squint. “Why were you thinking about that, anyway?”

[ laughter
elicits from the homunculus at the kid’s reaction, the smirk remaining as his lips continued to move in talk. ]

you? related to the prince? ’-smirk-’ i doubt it,  but that’s a conversation you better save for him if you ever have a chance to talk to him. ’ [ an eyebrow raises at, what could be described as, a terrible imitation of greed’s stance, the homunculus pushing himself off of the tree where he was leaning to stand tall, practically mocking the opposite’s height by doing so. ]

[ another careless shrug comes from the prince-ling’s body as his arms drop to his side, eyes momentarily closing an an almost sigh, to show his boredom, eliciting. ]

’ well, i’ve met your old man, you’ve met mine. you can see the similarities. y'know, just a thought that popped into my head that most of the older homunculi probably already know by now. and i was just thinkng about how they can probably use that against you somehow. ’

[ his voice was incredibly casual. ]
